Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment delayed (again) until Feb. 25

It looks like you will have to wait just a little bit longer for the first Sins of a Solar Empire "micro-expansion" to be released. Originally the plan was to release the $9.99 download, Entrenchment, by the end of 2008, and then it got pushed back to Feb. 11.

Last official day to download Windows 7 beta

If you have yet to download the beta version of Microsoft's Windows 7 beta version, you had better have a fast broadband connection. Today is the final day that Microsoft plans to offer the download from their servers. They will be shut off at 11:59 pm PT today. If you start downloading the beta but don't finish it Microsoft will give you until 9 am PT on Thursday to complete it.

Electronic Arts' surprise announcement of the upcoming downloadable game Battlefield 1943 last week has generated a number of questions from the shooter franchise's fans. Among those questions are why the development team decided to "only" have three player classes and the new "unlimited ammo" feature. However, Gustav Halling, a designer for developer Digital Illusions, has talked about those decisions on his personal blog site.

It's a growing trend among PC software for gamers. GotGame was the first to release their version of an in-game web browser, followed closely by Valve who introduced similar features via Steam. Now the Xfire gaming messenger software has added their own in-game web browser feature into their latest update.
